Thank you so much! Can’t really explain it, but, these hills are what’s left of an ancient sea bed. Delicate and fragile hills that are slowly melting. It just happened while painting it. The hill told me to make it melt…

Ah, that is so interesting. The change from relative realism to abstraction is fairly abrupt in the painting but feels completely natural. That’s one of the things I like about it – the way it incorporates the two ways of seeing. Reading your comment enriches the experience of the painting.
